Our Guide to your #SheridanLife
We set out on the journey of implementing a strategic plan because we work in a dynamic environment that evolves quickly.
We exist solely to serve our student members, and we must ensure we are as prepared as possible to meet their changing needs and demands. This strategic plan is designed to be responsive, and to do just that.
It will be the winding roadmap that steers us in the direction that best serves our students during their time at Sheridan College. Each year, a new group of passionate and committed students grow into leaders within the SSU.
How We Got Here…
This strategic plan was developed through a highly engaged and collaborative process that allowed all key stakeholders, including you, the opportunity to contribute to the future direction of the SSU.
A Message from the President
Your former SSU President, Enrique Ponce, served for two years, and in that time, building a Strategic Plan for the SSU was one of his main goals.

We are governed by 12 elected student leaders, and their feedback was instrumental during this process. Not only did they support our efforts, but they also helped provide valuable feedback.

OUR PILLARS OF SUCCESS
We realize that it’s important to focus our time and energy on the areas and activities that best match the needs of the students. So, we will focus our attention and efforts in three main areas.
Partners in Success
The success of the SSU is built on its incredible partnerships. These partners were not only integral in the development of this Strategic Plan but will also be invaluable in its implementation. At the core of this plan is the success of our students, a focus we share with Sheridan College.
From the senior leadership team through to faculty and college service providers, the SSU has an engaged and willing partner in delivering an exceptional student experience. Collaboration with the college throughout this process has allowed us to better understand our areas of commonality and of unique interest. We would like to thank the Sheridan College President, Janet Morrison and her teams for their support, encouragement and collaborations as both organizations work towards the common goal of helping students succeed.
Effective student leadership is only possible when there is a foundation of dedicated staff that are the bridge from one year to the next. Our administrative team is a strong and committed group of student-centred individuals that understand their role, not just as service providers, but also as mentors. These individuals not only contributed greatly to the content of this plan but will be essential to its implementation.
